Since 2009, the Sustainable Foods Summit has been covering major developments in the food industry concerning sustainability and and eco-labels, such as Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, etc. This international series of summits is hosted in North America, Latin America, as well as in Europe.
The next editions of the Sustainable Foods Summit will take place in 2017. The North American edition will be hosted in San Francisco (18-20 January), the European edition will once again be hosted in Amsterdam (1-2 June), the Latin American edition in São Paulo (18-19 September), whilst the Asia-Pacific edition will take place in Singapore (29-30 November). Each edition will bring together some of the most influential organisations involved in sustainability and eco-labels in the food industry. Please contact us for more details.
The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues. How do organic, fair trade and other certification schemes further sustainability? When, if ever, will there be a single sustainability standard for food products? What are common methods in measuring sustainability performance? Such issues are regularly debated at this series of summits.
Organised by Organic Monitor, the Sustainable Foods Summit is a climate-neutral event. The carbon footprint of the European summit is determined by calculating the carbon and greenhouses gases. In partnership with Soil & More, Organic Monitor offset these emissions by investing in soil composting projects. More details
